What is a CSA?

CSA stands for 'Community Supported Agriculture' These programs work by allowing interested households to purchase ‘shares’ or subscriptions of boxed vegetables delivered weekly for a predetermined block of time. In return, the farmer can use the money from share sales to purchase necessities early-on when he/she needs it the most. Rathgebers' Garten currently offers a 20 week CSA in the spring-fall and optional egg shares for interested customers

What if there is a certain item that I don’t want in my share?

This is not a problem. Dustin can accommodate most allergies and dietary preferences. Just let him know on your registration form, or contact them two days ahead of your CSA delivery. Dustin can accommodate one substitution of a similar value per week.

What is the difference between a Full and Half Share?

Full Shares include approximately $27 a week worth of produce and goods, which would be suitable for a family of 2-4. Half Shares include approximately $16.25 a week worth of produce and goods, which would be suitable for 1-2 people. Some weeks may include slightly more or less than the prospective dollar value as there is no guarantee all products will be available due to unforseen weather events, pest or disease related issues.

Do I have to pay for the entire share upfront?

If you wish to make multiple payments, a 50% down payment is due no later than March 1, 2018 followed by remaining balance due no later than May 1, 2018. Contact Dustin if you would like to arrange partial payments.

How do I pay for my CSA share?

Payments may be made on our website, in cash, by credit card (a 3.5% convenience fee applies) or a check made payable to Rathgebers' Garten. CSA Payments are non-refundible.

What if I want additional produce?

That is not a problem! Prices and quantities of available produce will be posted on our weekly blog. Contact Dustin at least 24 hours before your share is delivered, and he will invoice you at the end of the month.
